What a proper ChatGPT and Codex rollout changes

A ChatGPT and Codex rollout, sometimes called a ChatGPT Enterprise deployment, puts ChatGPT Business or ChatGPT Enterprise and Codex into everyday use across a business: the set-up, the rules, the training and the measurement. SpotDev delivers it remotely, at fixed prices.

Without SpotDev

Seats bought, nothing else

With SpotDev

After a SpotDev rollout

Without SpotDev

Personal accounts at work

Staff use personal ChatGPT accounts, where their content may be used for training unless they switch it off.

With SpotDev

One workspace the company controls

Everyone in the business workspace, signing in through your company accounts, with a written policy on what can go in.

Without SpotDev

Every app switched on

On ChatGPT Business, apps are on by default across the whole workspace.

With SpotDev

Apps chosen on purpose

Apps and plugins switched on for the work that needs them, and set per role on Enterprise.

Without SpotDev

Nothing capped

Credits are uncapped by default, and auto top-up has no limit unless someone sets one.

With SpotDev

Limits set before anyone starts

Monthly credit limits by seat type or group, alerts switched on, and someone named to read the usage every week.

Without SpotDev

Codex installed with no shared rules

Developers install Codex with no common settings, network rules or review step.

With SpotDev

Codex set up for the team

Local and cloud Codex switched on deliberately, settings enforced by policy, network access off unless allowed, and code review in GitHub.

Without SpotDev

No evidence it is worth it

Nothing was measured before access, so nobody can show what changed.

With SpotDev

A baseline and a readout

Time and output measured before access, then reported at day 30 and day 90, ending in a decision to scale, adjust or stop.

ChatGPT for business, set up properly

Delivered remotely with your admin, at a fixed price. You buy ChatGPT from OpenAI and pay them directly for seats and usage.

Business or Enterprise, decided on numbers

ChatGPT Business suits teams of 2 to 200, with single sign-on, domain verification and an admin console. ChatGPT Enterprise adds SCIM provisioning, custom roles, audit logs, custom retention and UK data storage for new workspaces. We say which you need before you buy.

Sign-in and roles

Single sign-on through your identity provider, your domain verified and roles assigned. On Enterprise, SCIM provisioning set up before anyone is invited.

Apps, plugins and company knowledge

Apps switched on for the work that needs them, and company knowledge connected so people only see what they can already access.

Credit limits and alerts

Monthly limits by seat type, group or person, with alerts, because nothing is capped by default and an alert does not stop usage.

Codex for your developers

Local and cloud Codex switched on deliberately, settings enforced by policy, GitHub connected, internet access limited to an allowlist, and code review set up.

From custom GPTs to plugins

OpenAI is retiring custom GPTs in favour of plugins, starting with Enterprise on 11 December 2026. We build new team tools as plugins and plan the move for any GPTs you rely on.

How a ChatGPT and Codex rollout runs

  1. 01

    Day One workshop, online

Each function lists the work that takes most of its time. We score it, take a baseline, and agree owners and targets with you.

  2. 02

Days 0 to 30: set-up and first wave

Workspace, sign-in, sharing, connectors and limits, then the first group trained on their own work in ChatGPT.

  3. 03

Days 30 to 60: first department

A two-week sprint builds that department's shared tools. At day 60 we check who is using ChatGPT and fix what is not working.

  4. 04

    Day 90: readout

Results against the baseline, presented by your sponsor, and a decision to scale, adjust or stop.

  5. 05

    After day 90: waves

One department at a time, each with its own sponsor, until your team runs it without us.

ChatGPT and Codex training for teams

Training on your own work, in small online groups

Groups of up to 15, three live sessions a week apart, using each person's real tasks. It is the same spaced method we use for HubSpot training, with a confidence survey before and after.

Real tasks in every session

Everyone brings a task from their own job and leaves having done it with ChatGPT or Codex.

Three sessions, a week apart

Practice between sessions is where the habit forms, so training is spread over three weeks.

A champion in every team

One person per team trained further, with time agreed by their manager, so questions get answered without us.

Recorded and repeatable

Every session is recorded, and new starters join a later group.

Your ChatGPT bill, estimated before you commit

Seats are only part of the cost. We size the rest before you sign anything.

A range, with the drivers named

Who will use ChatGPT and Codex, how heavily and for what. Seat fees are fixed, and credits for heavier use come on top, so we size each group separately.

Standard or Premium seats

ChatGPT Business offers Premium seats with more usage alongside Standard seats. We work out who needs one, because the mix drives the bill.

Codex usage

Codex draws on the same allowance as the rest of ChatGPT, and OpenAI publishes credit ranges per task rather than a cost per developer. We measure your own pilot before forecasting.

Limits from day one

Monthly credit limits and alerts before anyone starts, and auto top-up capped, so a busy month arrives as a request for more usage rather than an unexpected bill.

Common questions

What is a ChatGPT and Codex rollout?

A ChatGPT and Codex rollout, also called a ChatGPT Enterprise deployment, puts ChatGPT Business or ChatGPT Enterprise and Codex into everyday use across a business. SpotDev sets up sign-in, roles, apps, credit limits and Codex settings, trains staff and developers on their own work in remote groups, and measures the result, at fixed prices from £3,500.

Is a rollout the same as a deployment?

Yes, people use both words for the same work. We call it a rollout because deploying the tool is only the first part. The rest is getting people to use it on real work and measuring what changed.

Should we choose ChatGPT Business or ChatGPT Enterprise?

ChatGPT Business suits teams of 2 to 200 and includes single sign-on, domain verification and an admin console. ChatGPT Enterprise adds SCIM provisioning, custom roles and group permissions, audit logs, custom retention, encryption key management and data residency. Business is paid by card only, with no invoices. We set out the comparison for your headcount before you buy.

Can our data stay in the UK?

ChatGPT Enterprise can store data in the UK for new workspaces. Processing by the models is not offered in a UK region, and ChatGPT Business has no data residency option. If your data must be processed in the UK, we will say which work should stay out.

Does OpenAI train on our data?

Not by default on ChatGPT Business or ChatGPT Enterprise, unless your organisation chooses to share data, for example through feedback. Personal Plus and Pro accounts may be used for training unless the user switches it off, which is why the rollout moves work into the business workspace.

What is Codex, and who should get it?

Codex is OpenAI's AI agent for writing, reviewing and shipping code, available in the ChatGPT desktop app, the Codex CLI, an IDE extension and on the web. It is included in ChatGPT plans, with cloud tasks on Business and Enterprise. We set it up for your developers with policies, sandbox and network rules, and our Ready to Build service covers this in depth.

What about our custom GPTs?

OpenAI is retiring custom GPTs in favour of plugins, starting with Enterprise on 11 December 2026, with other plans expected to follow. We build new team tools as plugins and plan the move for the GPTs you rely on.

How long does a rollout take?

AI Starter runs over four weeks for one team of up to 15. AI Foundations is usually live in two to three weeks. AI Rollout sets up in 30 days and reports on the first department at day 90.

What will ChatGPT itself cost?

OpenAI bills you directly: a fixed fee per seat on Business, custom pricing on Enterprise, and credits for heavier use. Prices change, so we point you to OpenAI's pricing page and include a sterling range for your team in every proposal.

Is SpotDev an OpenAI partner?

SpotDev is an OpenAI Select Partner. We are a separate company from OpenAI, and partner status does not imply OpenAI's endorsement.

Do we need HubSpot?

No. A ChatGPT and Codex rollout works whatever systems you run. If you do use HubSpot, HubSpot has built a plugin for ChatGPT, and we connect it where it helps.
