About SpotDev
SpotDev is the software engineering firm for HubSpot customers. We build the custom software businesses need around HubSpot: integrations, customer portals, websites, data and AI.
We are a HubSpot Diamond partner with an in-house, fully remote engineering team, known for the well-engineered work that off-the-shelf setups and brittle middleware cannot do.
The role
The Solutions Architect designs client solutions across CRM, automation, integrations, websites, data flows and connected business systems. You will turn business requirements into clear, workable technical designs, and call on senior architects for the most complex engagements.
This is not a single-platform role. You do not need to come from a services background, and prior HubSpot experience is desirable rather than essential. What matters is your ability to translate business needs into practical technical designs, think across systems, and work well with both technical and non-technical people.
You will grow the scope and complexity of the work you own over time, with support and review from the senior team.
What you’ll do
- Design client solutions across CRM, automation, integrations, websites and related systems, drawing on senior architects for the most complex work.
- Take part in discovery sessions to capture requirements, constraints and dependencies.
- Translate business objectives into solution designs, workflow logic, system interactions and data structures.
- Help define integration approaches, API requirements and middleware patterns.
- Work closely with the CRM team and developers so configuration and build match the design.
- Produce clear documentation for architecture, integrations, workflows, data mappings and handovers.
- Flag risks, edge cases and trade-offs early, and help improve our internal templates and standards.
What we’re looking for
- Two to four years in solution design, business systems, technical consulting, implementation or a related technical role.
- Experience turning requirements into practical technical designs across one or more platforms.
- A good grasp of APIs, system integrations, data modelling and workflow design.
- Clear communication across technical and non-technical teams.
- Sound judgement, a structured approach, and the drive to grow towards senior-level architecture.
Desirable, not essential
- Experience with HubSpot, or with other CRM platforms such as Salesforce or Dynamics.
- Experience with automation and integration tools such as Make, Workato or Pipedream.
- Experience with CMS platforms, websites or digital delivery.
- Familiarity with scalable architecture patterns, cloud-based systems and secure solution design.
- Experience in B2B environments spanning sales, marketing, service or the customer lifecycle.
- A degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or similar (helpful, not required).
