SpotDev is the software engineering firm for HubSpot customers. We build the custom software businesses need around HubSpot: integrations, customer portals, websites, data and AI.
We are a HubSpot Diamond partner with an in-house, fully remote engineering team, known for the well-engineered work that off-the-shelf setups and brittle middleware cannot do.
The role
The Senior Solutions Architect leads the design of complex client solutions across CRM, automation, integrations, websites, data flows and connected business systems. You will combine strong technical judgement with structured problem-solving to make solutions scalable, practical, secure and aligned with client goals.
This is not a single-platform role. You do not need to come from a services background, and prior HubSpot experience is desirable rather than essential. What matters is your ability to translate business requirements into clear technical solutions, think across systems, and work well with both technical and non-technical people.
You will also help strengthen our internal standards, documentation and reusable frameworks, raising the quality of solution design across the team.
What you’ll do
- Lead the architecture and technical design of complex client solutions across CRM, automation, integrations, websites and related systems.
- Run and contribute to discovery sessions to understand requirements, pain points, constraints and technical dependencies.
- Translate business objectives into solution designs, technical blueprints, workflow logic, system interactions and data structures.
- Define integration strategies, API requirements, middleware patterns and system interoperability approaches.
- Work with the CRM team and developers to keep configuration and build aligned with the wider design, and technically sound.
- Review proposed approaches and completed work for architectural consistency and quality.
- Partner with Technical Project Managers to align design with scope, timelines, dependencies and resourcing.
- Produce clear documentation for architecture, integrations, workflows, data mappings and handovers, and surface risks, edge cases and trade-offs early.
- Support and mentor junior team members to raise solution thinking and delivery quality.
What we’re looking for
- Five or more years in solution architecture, business systems design, technical consulting or implementation architecture.
- A track record designing and supporting delivery of integration-led, automation-led or systems-focused solutions.
- A strong grasp of APIs, system integrations, data modelling, workflow design and solution documentation.
- The ability to turn ambiguous business needs into clear, practical technical approaches.
- Sound judgement balancing ideal architecture against timelines and commercial realities.
- Strong communication across technical and non-technical teams, and experience coordinating across CRM, development and delivery functions.
- Leadership and mentoring experience with less experienced technical or implementation colleagues.
Desirable, not essential
- Experience with HubSpot, or with other CRM platforms such as Salesforce or Dynamics.
- Experience with automation and integration tools such as Make, Workato or Pipedream.
- Experience with CMS platforms, websites or digital delivery.
- Familiarity with scalable architecture patterns, cloud-based systems and secure solution design.
- Experience in B2B environments spanning sales, marketing, service or the customer lifecycle.
- A degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or similar (helpful, not required).
