Custom engineered eCommerce integration

Shopify & HubSpot integration

Custom engineered for your business by SpotDev's accredited developers

Connect Shopify to HubSpot so orders, customers and products, including the metafields and variants HubSpot's own connector leaves out, arrive in the CRM as they happen, ready for segmentation and B2B sales follow-up.

  • 2–3 weeks typical turnaround
  • £2.5k-£6k typical investment
  • OAuth 2.0

Why connect Shopify to HubSpot

Shopify stores with wholesale customers, custom product data or more than one sales channel find that a standard connector moves the basics and leaves the fields that drive their business behind.

  • Metafields on products and customers, such as trade tier or account manager, do not reach HubSpot, so segmentation is built on incomplete data.
  • Product variants collapse into the parent product, which hides what a customer actually bought.
  • B2B orders with payment terms or company accounts need company-level logic in HubSpot that a one-size mapping does not provide.
  • Order data arrives as a flat record, so lifetime value, first-order date and reorder gaps have to be calculated by hand.

What you can do with Shopify and HubSpot

The integration authenticates to the Shopify GraphQL Admin API with an OAuth access token and subscribes to webhook topics such as orders/create and products/update, with a reconciliation job to catch any missed events.

  • A new order creates or updates the HubSpot contact and company, records the order with its line items, variants and discount codes, and updates lifetime value and last-order-date properties.
  • Customer and product metafields map to HubSpot properties, so trade tier, pricing group or account manager can drive lists, workflows and deal assignment.
  • Wholesale customers are associated to a HubSpot company, and orders roll up to the company for account managers.
  • Product and variant changes in Shopify update the HubSpot product library so quotes use current names and prices.

Shopify & HubSpot integration: FAQs

Does HubSpot have a native Shopify app?
Yes. HubSpot's own Shopify (Data Sync) app syncs customers to contacts, companies (Shopify Plus only) and products two-way, and orders and abandoned checkouts one way into HubSpot. HubSpot's documentation states that Shopify metafields are not supported for sync and that product variants do not sync, and custom field mappings need at least Data Hub Starter. If those limits do not affect you, the native app is the right answer and we will say so.
Does Shopify have an API that a custom HubSpot integration can use?
Yes. Shopify's GraphQL Admin API is the current API. Shopify marks the REST Admin API as legacy from 1 October 2024 and requires new public apps to use GraphQL from 1 April 2025. Apps authenticate with an access token sent in the X-Shopify-Access-Token header, granted through OAuth with specific scopes such as read_products or write_orders. Webhooks push events per topic, and Shopify advises a reconciliation job because delivery is not guaranteed.
What data can sync between Shopify and HubSpot?
Orders with line items and variants, customers, companies, products and metafields flow from Shopify into HubSpot as contacts, companies, deals or custom objects, products and properties. This build is configured one way from Shopify, which keeps the store as the record of truth for orders.
How long does a Shopify HubSpot integration take, and what does it cost?
Two to three weeks, and between £2.5k and £6k, fixed after scoping. The variables are how many metafields you map and whether orders become deals or a custom object.
